It all start upon your arrival in Kathmandu. Destination Unlimited Treks will be awaiting you at the arrival section with a signboard for easy recognition. Once met we take the car and drive to your booked hotel in Kathmandu. Spend your first night exploring the bustling streets of Kathmandu’s backpacker’s alley Thamel, and enjoy your evening. The next day after breakfast our Destination Unlimited tour guide will pick you up at the reception to commence your sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. You’re in for a cultural and historical delight as you visit Kathmandu’s top 4 locations; Kathmandu’s Durbar Square, Swayambunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath. The Durbar Square or Palace Courtyards of Kathmandu, are filled with small shops and huge ancient temples and palace buildings. Small intertwining roads lead form courtyard to courtyard, navigate your way through the alleys through the bazaar market and visit the famous Hanuman Doaka and the Mahadev Shiva Temple. Try out local street food such as momo or pani puri and learn about Kathmandu’s ancient history with the help of our informative guide. Swayambunath better known as the money temple is just a short distance away from the Durbar Square and where we will head next. It’s a climb up the hill via the staircase, beware for the countless monkeys running around! Once at the top you’ll be able to see panoramic views of Kathamndu city and the hills surrounding it. The next stop is a bit further away as you’ll head to the famous Boudhanath Stupa, an important Buddhist pilgrimage site. Make a tour around the huge white stupa and relax at one of the rooftop restaurants for a great lunch. Last we head to the holy Pashupatinath Temple Complex. Roam around the ancient monuments and temples, make selfies with the Guru priests covered in ash, or have your palm reading done for good fortune. Afterwards we’ll drop you back of at the hoteland conclude the sightseeing tour around Kathmandu.

On day 3 you’ll be heading to Pokhara on the Happy Family Nepal tour. Known as the most relaxing city in Nepal and as the gateway to the Annapurna Himalaya Pokhara is just incredible. Depending on your booking choice you’ll either drive or fly to the lakeside city. After check in to your hotel, take the time and explore around Phewa Lake. Pokhara’s Lakeside area is filled with BBQ restaurants with live music and souvenir and trekking shops. Don’t stay up to late as the next day we start the trekking part of the Happy Family Nepal tour. In the morning we drive to straight to Ghandruk. One of the biggest Gurung settlements of the area and our starting point for the trek. But before we head out, we’ll take some time exploring around the village and visiting the Gurung museum made by the local community. As we head out we follow the trail leading to Jhinu Danda. It’s mostly through forests and slowly uphill going. In these forests you can encounter with sub Himalayan wild life such as Monkey’s, Himalayan Thar, Boar, and if you are lucky the Red Panda. Jhinu Danda famous for its natural hot water springs is where you’ll spend your first overnight. The hot water springs are just below the village! After breakfast the following morning we head out and take the trail to Pothana. This charming and small village is well known for its hospitality. We start by following the Modi River downstream mostly descending. After a good few hours we head back into the forest towards Landruk village. From here we head further south passing by Lumle and ultimately reaching Pothana. Located on top the hill ridge Pothana gives you some amazing last views of the valley and the Annapurna Conservation Area. Visit the Kumari temple and interact with locals for a great last day in the mountains! The next day we trek for a few hour downhill to Phedi form where we can drive back to Pokhara and conclude the trekking part of this amazing Happy Family Nepal tour.

The last part of the amazing family friendly tour in Nepal takes you to the jungles of Chitwan! It takes about 6 hours by vehicle and along the way you can see some more of the country side. Interesting to notice is once in the Terai region of Nepal you’ll notice no more mountains and flat grounds as far as the eye can see! Once at your hotel after some refreshments the local guide will take you on a jungle walk on the outskirts of the National Park. During this walking tour you’ll be able to encounter your first wildlife sightings as well as make a visit to the local Tharu village. In the evening the Tharu community performs a spectacular cultural show with a traditional “stick dance”. For your first morning in Chitwan take a relaxing and peaceful canoe ride on the Rapti River. Canoes are made traditionally from hollowed out tree trunks and sit quite comfortably. The river stretches out along the National Park serving as a natural border. There are crocodiles in the river so be cautious where u put your hand in the water! The exit point of the canoe ride is near to the hotel and we take s short walk back. After lunch we head for your jungle jeep safari within the National Park itself. You’ll be able to see the endangered One*Horned Rhino, the Asian Elephant and perhaps the elusive Bengal Tiger. The park is also famous for birdwatching, especially the King Fisher, wild peafowls, or the Asian Openbill. At the end of the jeep safari we head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. On your last day in Chitwan after breakfast we make a visit to the Elephant Health and Care center. Here you get to mother elephants nurturing their babies. Visit the small museum to get more insight in the history and relationship between the elephants and local communities. Once back at the hotel we check out and drive back to Kathmandu. It’s a long and relaxing ride providing opportunity to reminisce about the wonderful journey you made through Nepal.
